With more than 120 million objects in its research collection, the museum is a fascinating resource on people and their natural surroundings. Visitors can learn about humankind's earliest history and development of world cultures and see thousands of specimens of mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, sea life, fossils, gems, minerals, rocks, ores and meteorites. Among the exhibits are halls devoted to dinosaurs, Native American cultures, Ice Age mammals, and other specimens of our natural environment.

Highlights: Dinosaurs, giant squid, African bush elephant, Hope Diamond, O. Orkin Insect Zoo, coral reef, Naturalist Center and Discovery Room.
