This is a museum of African American history and culture devoted to the identification, documentation and preservation of the African American experience in the Upper South (Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Washington, D.C.). The museum examines contemporary social issues and their impact upon African American communities in the region.
